Tucked away in a pretty rural hamlet yet within easy reach of the market town of Helston, this substantial family home offers flexible space, delightful gardens and ample parking along with garages.
Steeping inside, the impressive reception hall is a room in its own right with a practical and attractive slate flagstone floor. The living room is light and bright thanks to the patio doors which open onto the garden and the woodburner is perfect for cosy evenings. Exposed A frame beams add character giving this home which was built in the 1970's the feeling of an older property but with the benefit of much easier upkeep! The open plan kitchen/dining room has been thoughtfully designed with the kitchen area having a range of fresh cream units topped with granite work surfaces. The oven, hob and extractor are integrated and the wood style flooring flows through to the dining area. With plenty of space for a large table and chairs, the dining room has a fitted dresser. A door from the kitchen opens to the garden. There are two double bedrooms and a modern family bathroom on the ground floor ensuring that this home is not only "future proof" but that there is plenty of space for a family to spread out. Heading upstairs, you'll find two further double bedrooms and a superb contemporary shower room with white suite and a large walk in shower. There is also an office/study. Outside as you'd expect with a rural property, the gardens are extensive and packed with mature plants and shrubs. The driveway offers plenty of off road parking and the large garage is arranged as two single garages which is ideal for either parking, hobbies or storage. Keen gardeners will enjoy pottering in the greenhouse. A truly unique home in a delightful location.
Lowertown is a pretty hamlet just outside Helston.
The hamlet consists of a mix of rural properties located in a sheltered sylvan valley setting with the river Cober meandering it's way down to the coast. The area is a haven for wildlife, and offers scenic walks along the Cober valley. The market town of Helston stands at the gateway of the Lizard Peninsula which is Britain's most southerly point, which gives access to some of the most dramatic coastal scenery and beaches the UK has to offer. The coastal and inland villages are most picturesque which add to the overall charm of this delightful and highly regarded peninsula. Helston has an array of independent shops, well regarded schools (both junior and senior) sports centre, doctor's surgeries, pharmacies and a cinema. The attractive harbour town of Porthleven is close by with some superb seafood restaurants including Rick Stein's. Transport links are good from Helston with a bus service and easy access by road to Falmouth, Penzance and Truro.
